That One Summer Release Day Blitz

Loving Chris Henderson would be wrong. Diabolically disastrous. I mean, what is there about him to love? He’s moody, bossy, brooding, a control freak, and that’s on a good day … but there was one achingly obvious fact that haunted my every thought, every minute of every day …

He sure could kiss.

As the countdown to the new millennium begins, there is one thing everyone agrees on: no one wants to be in Onslow for New Year’s Eve.

So that can only mean one thing: road trip!

No longer the mousey, invisible, shy girl from years ago, Tammy Maskala is finally making up for all those lost summers. A new year with new friends, which astoundingly includes the bossy boy behind the bar, Chris Henderson.

She likes her new friends (at least most of them), so why does she secretly feel so out of place?

After chickening out on the trip, a last-minute change of heart sees Tammy racing to the Onslow Hotel, fearing she’s missed her chance for a ride. The last thing she expected to meet was a less-than-happy Onslow Boy leaning against his black panel van.

Now the countdown begins to reach the others at Point Shank before the party is over and the new year has begun. Alone in a car with only the infuriating Chris Henderson, Tammy can’t help but feel this is a disastrous start to what could have been a great adventure. But when the awkward road trip takes an unexpected turn, Tammy soon discovers that the way her traitorous heart feels about Chris is the biggest disaster of all.

Fogged up windows, moonlight swimming, bad karaoke and unearthed secrets; after this one summer nothing will ever be the same again.

Non Friction Blog Tour

Morgan Parker’s first novel, Non Friction, tells the story of a man whose wife just walked out on him. Faced with an empty house and emotional turmoil, he turns to writing a novella, which introduces him to the fast and furious lifestyle of indie literature stardom… and Emma, a woman who comes on a little strong but turns out to be the one sliver of sunshine in his otherwise dark and devastating life.

Now that he has enjoyed a bit of success and attention, his wife (Jennifer) comes back and suddenly decides that they should pursue marriage counseling. Eager to win her back, the main character agrees to anything and the counselor asks them to create something beautiful for each other. Our main character decides on Our Story, a love story that will not only win his wife back, but can also double as his next novel.

Over the course of writing Our Story, the main character realizes that winning Jennifer back might not be the smartest thing for his heart. In fact, he starts to appreciate the true meaning of the word love, which he finds in Emma.

Excerpt:

We stared at each other for a bit and the more I looked at her, the more I wanted to hate her like I hated Jennifer. But I couldn’t. Emma was everything my wife wasn’t. She had not only boosted my ego with those panties she sent me, but she always said the sweetest things when I needed it the most. Plus her boobs were super big in real-life and although that counted for a lot, there was just so much more to Emma. I mean, she had these smile lines around her mouth that promised she’d make an amazingly hot senior citizen, the kind of gal you’d just pray would have her walker break down before siesta time, and you’d have to give her a ride home on your electric scooter. I couldn’t hate her if I tried.

Yes, she was that perfect.

My Review:

Hilarious, witty, romantic- Non-Friction was a surprising good book. I was not sure what to expect when I first started reading it. Since I did not review the synopsis, I was clueless. I am so glad I went into this book blind. There were definitely funny parts in the book and I was shocked to see things I would say in here too.

Morgan did an amazing job on creating a story within a story. He captured what is it like to be in a one sided marriage and finding comfort and acceptance from outside. This is the first book I have
by this author and now that I know I like his writing style, I think I will have to check out his other works.

Skin Deep Blog Tour

Title:  Skin Deep
Author:  Megan D. Martin
Series:  #1 of The Eternal Forces
Genre: New Adult Paranormal Romance
Publisher:  Dragonfairy Press
Expected Release Date:   November 2013

What would you do to have the body of your dreams?

Kiera hates being overweight and hides behind thick layers of clothing. One night, her friends present an opportunity that seems impossible to believe. With a single spell, she can have the thin physique she's always coveted.

But all magic comes with a price: no sex or she'll revert back to her old body. Kiera accepts the cost. It's not like she has men lined up at her door. Obeying this one tiny rule isn't difficult at all—until the night she meets Cain, a were-tiger and a soldier with the Eternal Forces.

When a slew of unexplained murders forces Kiera and Cain together, they'll have to face the horrors of their pasts. Will Kiera realize she is worth more than her outward appearance? Or will she make the wrong the choice and lose everything—including her life?

My Review:

Skin Deep is one of those books that sticks out in your mind. The story manages to stay with you long after you finish reading it.

Keira is a beautiful girl inside and out. She views herself as an overwieght girl who can not seem to find happiness. All of that changes when her friends find a gypsy to cast a spell on her to make her dream of being thin come true. The only catch you ask....no sex! Yes...a beautiful body who attracts the opposite sex like a siren can not enjoy the attention she craves. What a bum deal!!!!

Enter Cain: the most hottest guy I have read about in a long time. He is drawn to our girl Keira by forces he can not fathom. Could she be the one to tame him or will she be the hardest conquest he encounters to date??? Find out if beauty is only Skin Deep.

Megan has a way with creating a written tapestry of awesomeness. She manages to snag you within the first chapter and long after the book is finished. The storyline is clever, the evil is written quite lovely and the characters are memorable. She did a fantastic job with Skin Deep.

Waiting for Book 2 of The Enternal Forces Series is like waiting in line for a rollercoaster when you absolutely dread them...IT'S PAINFUL!!!!

Loving You Blog Tour

Gregory Riley and Jordan Carlisle are destined to meet and marry to fulfill an ancient prophesy and defeat evil once and for all.  However, the powers of darkness have managed to intervene and prevent their marriage throughout time and history.   In each era and place, they are drawn to one another by an overwhelming and all-powerful love that defies explanation.  However, they are always mysteriously murdered before they can say “I do”.
In Book One, the couple discovered their past life together in Victorian Virginia and the mysterious circumstances surrounding their deaths.  Now, with help from their visionary guide and other mediums, they must follow the clues to uncover who caused their demise during the time of America’s War of Independence.

Both Jordan and Gregory know that they can’t be married until all the mysteries of the past are solved; so they secretly plan their wedding as they travel to Philadelphia, seeking to identify the witch and minions who have foiled their nuptials in the past and seek to prevent their upcoming trip to the altar.

But this time, something’s different.  They experience the manifestation of powers that they have never had before and become stronger, as the darkness becomes bolder in an effort to destroy the couple.   Can they remember their past?  Can they remember their love?  Or will the darkness stop them, once again, before they can proclaim, “I Remember Loving You!”

Buy it here on Amazon!

My Review:

Loving You dives right back into the story of Jordan and Gregory; two old souls who are destined to be together as part of a prophecy but always end up dying somehow.

As Jordan and Gregory attempt to decipher the mystery of their past deaths, the evil that is plaguing them is definitely stronger in this life and you can't help but feel like this might be the life that the prophecy is fulfilled.

Jordan and Greogory are determined that this is the life where they will finally get married. But as the dreams start to plague them, it makes you wonder who is behind it all. With the addition to some new characters, you are left wanting more and you can't help but fall in love with this series!

My thoughts on Blood Slayer:

I was a huge Tim Miller fan with Dark Exorcist and The Hand of God Series but now-now it is official. He is genius when it comes to writing dark and amazing stories. With Blood Slayer, the main character is not some hot, smexy person who knows what they are and how they came to be that way. The heroine in this story is a teenage girl who is Autistic and has a run-in with a vampire who can't charm her. She is then saved by a vampire slayer who is intrigued by her. From there, Tim takes you to the compound where she trains with the slayers and becomes a part of the unit.

** read the book to get this**

On a routine trip to a hive, Jessica runs into someone from her past who she thought to be long gone. Lives are changed and questions arise when Jessica is bitten. She is the key to it all. I would say more but that would ruin the awesomeness that is in this book. Find out more when you read Blood Slayer.

About Tim:
Image of Tim MillerTim Miller has studied various religions, as well as psychology and has worked in several fields involving the study of human behavior. After serving four years in the U.S. Marines, Tim spent six years working in corrections and social services. He currently lives in San Antonio, Texas with his wife and their children.

Tim became a fan of horror as a teenager. At the age of fourteen he would often read Stephen King books while listening to Iron Maiden on his head phones. He would write short stories to entertain himself and his friends. You can visit Tim's website at http://timmiller.org

Lauren Hawkeye/ Lauren Jameson never imagined that she'd wind up telling stories for a living... though when she looks back, it's easy to see that she's the only one who is surprised. Always "the kid who read all the time", Lauren made up stories about her favorite characters once she'd finished a book... and once spent an entire year narrating her own life internally. No, really. But where she was just plain odd before publication, now she can at least claim to have an artistic temperament.
Lauren lives in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Canada with her husband, toddler, pit bull and idiot cat, though they do not live in an igloo, nor do they drive a dogsled. Revealing Kia Blog Tour & Giveaway

The events of Claudia’s party were nothing more than a distant memory as far as Kia was concerned. She was ready to resume her life as though that night had never happened. But it’s a slippery slope keeping a secret and Kia’s about to learn just how hard when she’s faced with the truth and the consequences of her decision.
Adam Chaves was no stranger to girls wanting him. He was no stranger to breaking hearts, although never intentionally. What he didn’t understand was how Kia could undress him, touch him, burn him with her eyes and still keep him at arm’s length when it was evident how much it cost her. But what Kia didn’t realize was that he had never given up on anything in his life and he wasn’t about to start now. He would have his girl even if it meant he had to kidnap her to do it.

EXCERPT

“You better hurry.” The low, lazy drawl had me turning back to the room. Adam lay on his back, arms folded beneath his head. “I think I’m beginning to doze off again.” Stifling my laugh, I stole a peek up and down the hall before slipping inside and shutting the door. I crept across the room, careful not to stir Kenny who snored like he’d swallowed a blow horn. “I don’t know if I want to wake you,” I murmured, stopping when my knee bumped the edge of the mattress. “You might throw me into a snow bank, too.” There was something intense about the way he watched me. I didn’t know what it was, but it had my heart galloping and my body reacting in a way that brought a flush to my face. “The only place I’m going to throw you is right here.” He had my wrist before I could catch his meaning. I was yanked onto the bed, still warm and rumpled from his body. I might have squeaked or gasped or something, but it was a distant memory when his mouth took claim of mine. It wasn’t a kiss. It was war. It was cruel and hot and demanding. It was his hands ripping up my body, fisting in my clothes, in my hair as his body restrained mine, pinning me to the mattress. He kissed me as though he would die if he didn’t consume me. My legs were roughly thrown apart and my thighs were filled by the pressure of his hips settling into place. A sound between a whimper and a cry left me as his body aligned with mine in a way that sent fire racing through my veins. I was only barely conscious of anything except how much I wanted him to keep going. It was only due to the snort-grunt from the other occupant in the room that I tumbled down a notch from the heights he was taking me. “Kenny,” I gasped, my body bowing into his. He snarled. His fingers tightened in my hair, making me cry out as sharp slivers of delicious pleasure ripped through me. “Adam!” he hissed. “When you’re in my bed, it’s only Adam.” “Adam!” I obediently complied. Then he kissed me again.

My Review of Revealing Kia:

Holy fireflies from Hades!!!! Airicka has managed to suck me into yet another one of her amazing books let alone series and keep me up all night reading; not to mention attempt to not wake up the snoring family members.... I passed but barely.

Revealing Kia is such an amazing addition to The Lost Girl Series that begs to be read over and over again. Lines stick in your head like peanut butter in a dogs' mouth-both make me laugh. There is this one scene where Adam finally meets Kia's mother and Joanne and there's a photo album- oh wait! Nope, not gonna do it........you'll have to read Revealing Kia to see where this is going. But it is freaking hilarious because I've been there and planning on going there with my daughters. Oh yes I will  BE one of those mothers..evil I know.

So yes- if you are wondering if Revealing Kia is a good book to read, heck yeah it is! In fact it is perfect for this Holiday Season. You will not be disappointed and in fact it might even keep you wondering what will happen next?

Unusual Awakening Blog Tour & Giveaway

With tears and a tight hug, Rylee Everley’s dad left for Afghanistan with the Army Reserve. Since his deployment, her mom has been distant, her sisters are constantly fighting, and Rylee, at only thirteen years old, has to be the glue to keep them together. While her mother stays locked in her room, Rylee has been forced into the role of parent.

Now, two years later, a freak accident involving a bus at school promises to restore some normality to her family. In spite of not knowing how their father is, her mother is happy and her sisters don’t seem to fight as much as they used to. Rylee herself is seeing more of her friends and is even trying to sort out her own feelings about Brock Parker. However, something dark threatens to disrupt that normality for personal gain, and that darkness is willing to break every rule to get what it wants.

Excerpt:
Getting up, I walk over to the tree line. I don’t see anything around, so I grab a rock and throw it to scare off any animals. Walking in further, I call out, “Hello?” Everything is quiet. I wait a few more seconds. Something feels off. Walking in a little further, I hear a branch break. I know I didn’t step on anything, so something’s unquestionably out there. “Who’s out here?” I yell. A big oak tree stands directly in front of me, right next to him. “No, no, no, no,” I beg.

My Review:

Unusual Awakening starts off sad with the departure of Rylee's military father. Being a military brat myself, I know first hand how heart-wrenching the feeling is. S.M did an amazing job capturing these emotions and what it is like to be thrust into a supportive/leadership role in the family.
As the years pass by and Riley's father is kept longer away from them, the stress and everything that goes with it starts to wear her down. When the news hits that her farther is MIA, this sets off a single chain of events that will blow you away. She hears voices and dreams crazy dreams. S.M did an amazing job of blending the normal with the not-so-normal. Not sure what I'm talking about, check out Unusual Awakening for yourself!

S.M. Knowles was born in Elmira, New York where she was swept away in a whirlwind to the Land of Oz—Independence, Kansas. Her parents were relocating for working opportunities and decided that this would be the perfect place to start new roots. Little did she know that this place would contribute to the inspiration for the first book she wrote in her Rylee Everley Series.
While growing up, S.M. would travel the roads around her house while imagining she was somewhere else. Her imagination would take her everywhere, making the long hot summer days seem shorter throughout her fantasies.
At the age of twelve, she decided to write her first book. Filled mostly with dialog, she filled up one-hundred pages, front and back. After taking the book downstairs to show her mom, and persuading her to buy her more paper, she excitedly ran back to her room. As she barreled through the door, S.M. tripped over items left on her floor, and her papers came raining down in her room. Discouraged, she stood there in tears, picking up her papers and throwing them in the trash. Her work had no organization, no numbers on her pages, just a child fulfilling a joy that she would put down and not pick up again.
When she became older, she joined the military for something different. In that time, she was able to explore many places and even met her husband in Iraq. After coming home, she started her family in Arizona and went back to school, earning a Master’s degree in Adult Education and Training.

A Long Time Coming Blog Tour & Giveaway!

Abigail Orson has a problem. A love problem to be exact. And she has absolutely no idea how to go about fixing it.
For years now, she’s been chasing her best friend’s brother––demanding things from him that he’s never wanted to give. For one? A real relationship that stems well beyond that dreaded ‘just friend’s’ zone. You see, David Anderson is her perfection to a T. The one and only guy that’s ever had the ability to make her heart beat faster––make her toes curl with the simple blink of his long, girly lashes. But David is also a recovering amputee, and the only thing he really wants out of Abigail, is to be left alone. Abigail’s a fighter though, and losing the one guy who has ruined her for every other man is no longer an option.
He’s a waste of space. A guy with one leg who has lost his motivation to live––to love––to be a man in general. If only the beautiful girl, of his unattainable dreams, would get that through her perfect, blonde, stubborn head! He’s not the right guy for Abigail––he’ll never be worthy of what she deserves. But staying away is almost impossible, especially when he’s just as in love with her as she is him. But Abigail has a life ahead of her––one that’s definitely livable without a nineteen year old gimp like him holding her down. What makes her want to stick around is beyond questionable anymore.
Choices will be made. Lines will be drawn. And the two of them will face challenges that nobody saw coming. David and Abigail may have had thirteen years to fall in love, but the thing is, timing and love have never exactly worked in their favor either...

Excerpt:
He made it to his feet, swaying slightly to the side, just as she reached out a hand to steady him. Her brows drifted together, her lips were pursed to kill. All sass and spice––the girl was straight up sex in a sweater dress. “And what is that supposed to mean?” She stood with her hands at her hips. David narrowed his eyes as her neckline slipped lower. He traced the edge with his gaze, wishing it was his fingers instead.
“It just means that you’re trying to mess with my head.”
She scoffed, pressing her hand over the dip of that crack he wanted to keep ogling. Damn. That was twice now in a span of two seconds that he imagined touching that very spot. This time though, he wasn’t thinking about using his hands… He sucked in a gasp and released a quiet groan at the thought. Yeah, he was in a shit ton of trouble with this girl.
But really though, what was new?
