Deanna Oscar Paranormal Mysteries Book 8

Ghosts never forget, rarely forgive, and frequently refuse to move on.
While Deanna is helping her brother settle in, her friends relationships give her reasons to worry and celebrate—depending on the couple.
Work, however, never stops.
The case that falls in her lap at the Hundred Willows Plantation is truly disturbing. The ghosts have become restless—attacking tourists and tour guides. While the family denies there is anything haunting the antebellum mansion, they can’t hide the truth from Deanna.
The plantations dark history repeats itself. Specific scenes playing out over and over. That isn’t the worst of it.
It’s when the supernatural residents try to interact with humans that injury and death become a recurring theme for the living.
The only way to change the pattern is for Deanna to put herself in the path of anger, attack, and Death (wearing high heels) itself.

Since this is my first installment in the series, I was a little lost at first but quickly fell into place after the first four chapters. My next goal is to get caught up and start from the beginning to see where this all started for De and the gang.
I really enjoyed reading this story. It was a quick read and I found the characters to be relatable as they aren't "too" paranormal. Being set in the deep south at a plantation no less, I found the story to be believable in the sense of spirits inflicting harm to the living. (I watch Ghost Adventures and witnessed it on TV)
De and the crew must help Frankie get used to his gift while trying to figure out what is happening to guests and the tour guide of the Hundred Willows Plantation. Things do get tense (not going to lie) for the gang, there is a touch of humor, and definitely a tight bond. Each character has their own unique personality and it shows in the story.
I look forward to reading the series from start to finish to see where the characters came from and how they have grown to where they are now.

The Last Valkyrie by Karina Espinosa Blog Tour!!

Title: The Last Valkyrie
Author: Karina Espinosa
Genre: Adult Urban Fantasy
Cover Designer: Orina Kafe
Publication Date: August 3rd, 2018
Hosted by: Lady Amber’s PR
Blurb:  Raven Romero is a washed up Valkyrie who is unable to return to Valhalla, spending her days in a haze of sex, drugs, and alcohol.
When she is wrongfully accused of murder, Raven has two options: run or clear her name. With a laundry list of enemies, she has no idea who could be framing her. One thing is for sure: they know what she is and they'll stop at nothing until she’s behind bars or dead.
With no choice but to delve into the supernatural underground she tried so hard to avoid, Raven seeks aid and learns what it means to be human.
The world believes her kind no longer exists, but Raven Romero is The Last Valkyrie.

This was a really good read. It came to me at a time when I was in a reading funk and couldn't find something interesting. Upon reading the synopsis, I thought that this would be a fresh take on Norse mythology and I am glad I took a chance on The Last Valkyrie. Raven is a badass with a drug problem. I'm not sure why exactly she does them but I'm hoping it becomes clear in the next installment. Valkyries are trained to not feel, but yet when it comes to a certain banshee, she cares.

Full of excitement, mystery, sex, drugs, and myth, The Last Valkyrie will leave you wanting more and wanting revenge on a Norse God and a shifter. Definitely a fun read but not recommended for young ones or teens in my opinion.
