The Diamond Mini-Series by J.M Zuniga

In honor of J.M Zuniga's birthday (which is today) I wanted to share her awesomeness with you!

****TDMS Collection by J.M. Zuniga***
Contains all 3 TDMS books. Under Ground, The Core, and Ransom. Follow Diamond and Obsidian on their journey of survival.
Under Ground-Left alone in a secret room after their parents were kidnapped, Diamond and Obsidian must take care of their younger siblings. But how? They are facing both the threat of intruders and the threat of starvation. Will they survive or will their fate fall into the hands of the intruders?
The Core-The enemy is closer than ever searching for the core, something so powerful it could sustain the energy of half of the US, but if it were to fall into the wrong hands in a society that is overwhelmingly desperate for energy, it could mean the end of freedom and lives. Watch as Diamond battles with the shadows of her recent past. Her struggle within could compromise the safety of those around her.
Ransom-Diamond has left because she thinks she'll keep the others safe. What she doesn't realize is that she put them in more danger than they could ever imagine by taking the core with her. When one of the group members is kidnapped and the core is the ransom, how will they ever find Diamond to get the core back in time to save a life?

My Reviews:

Underground:
I really liked this book. It is a quick read but packed full of excitement. I must admit that I cried during a heart breaking scene. J.M did such a wonderful job on this that I can't wait to start The Core. I'm just hoping that there is a back story to bring me up to the "current situation" Diamond and Sid are in. Kudos on a great read!

The Core:
OMG that was so good!!!! My curiosity peaked at the end with who was chasing Diamond.
Once again J.M filled a short story with so much action and unanswered questions that you have to read Ransom! Now the hard part... Waiting for it to be out for purchase : )
Great job on a great series!!!!

Ransom:
I seriously did not want Ransom to end! This is the best book in the series hands down! It is so full of emotion and action, you'll be left wanting more.

Right off the bat, Ransom picks right back where The Core left off-with Diamond on the ground in the woods being attacked. But it turns out to be a rescue mission! Meanwhile, Sid and the others are having problems of their own. Someone gets kidnapped and is being held in exchange for the Core. The only problem is Diamond has it. And there's a traitor in the group. Can you guess who?

Come along with Diamond and Sid as you see the events unfold through their eyes and fight their way to the lab. Will Diamond make it there in one piece? Will Sid find a way to get the kidnapped back? Find out the answers when you read Ransom!

I seriously could not put this one down. There's a touching moment between Sid and Mica that brought tears to my eyes. And there's a surprise twist in this story as well.

J.M really outdid herself with Ransom! I can't wait to find out what happens next. There's so much more I'd love to say but then I'd spoil it for everyone else. So hurry up and read Ransom so we can talk!

Cover Reveal! Closure by Kim Carmichael

There's always the one…

He's one person throughout life you think about every so often, the one who leaves his unique indelible mark on you, the person with whom you need closure.
For Margaret Collins that person was Mike Taylor.
After he broke her heart seventeen years ago, she left everything she knew and reinvented herself. With a new home, a new look and a new name, Riley Williams is now an up and coming journalist given the assignment to interview a Mike Taylor. She never suspected he would be her Mike Taylor.
With Mike having no hint of Riley's true identity, she must decide if she will make him pay for sins he doesn't remember committing, or if she can wipe away the past and be with the one man who she has always wanted?

Can she finally have closure?

A little taste:

There’s always that one guy. Riley watched her date and shook her head.
"Stay there, I'll get the door." Mike got out of the car.
The cellophane on the roses Mike gave her when he arrived at her apartment crinkled in complaint as she moved them to the back seat, but not before she breathed in one more time. The floral perfume combined with his cologne made her dizzy, or maybe it was the ride down Pacific Coat Highway to Malibu.
Yes, there was always that one guy, the one that every other man is measured against. Up until yesterday she hadn’t thought about Mike in years, but he was always there. His imprint was all over her, a fingerprint unique to only her. How many men had to live up to memories they couldn’t compete with?
Part of her wished she possessed the strength to turn him down. Part of her wished he hadn't shown, or cancelled. Part of her wanted this date to reclaim what she lost so long ago she forgot she missed it.
The moment she got in the car with him, she became the seventeen-year-old Margaret again. Only her former self never got this far. At the time she convinced herself it was better, the date would have been terrible, he was too goal oriented, and he only wanted what he perceived as an easy lay.
He took long strides around the car, opened the door on her side and held out his hand. "Riley."
Now she was Riley. Margaret was gone. Riley had hidden her away with a name change taken from her parents' middle names, a bottle of hair dye, and a move to a new state.
She paused, studying him. Tonight he wore a pair of black pants and matching blazer and dark blue button down. As always, he fit his situation perfectly. She acquiesced and put her hand in his.

My Review:

OK...How to start this review? Let's see... at first I wasn't sure what to expect in all honesty. I figured that this would be another story where your main person sees dead people and that's it. I was so wrong!
Our main is Anora. She's a medium who has to hide what she is from her family and friends. It's not that they don't know; it's more like they don't talk about it. So that's how she deals with it. She tries to ignore it. Then she meets a mysterious newcomer and tragedy strikes. Out of nowhere, she discovers hidden powers and finds love with Ethan. Oh...did I mention that demons are hunting her?
Emily did such a kickass job on this story. It's very detailed and written beautifully. At times the story was a little winded for me but overall I really liked it. I can't wait to read the next install in The Guardian Legacies Series!

My Review:

Holy Smokes! Catherine has upped her game in Fade To Silver. Just when I thought it couldn't get anymore fantastical, she raised it to uber freaking fantastically awesome! So many twists and turns and questions being raised and shock...definitely shocked this time!
Adie is back at college for the year when who comes to pay her a visit??......Rens. So back to IPA she goes when she nomad dreams into an unknown Visionary's dream. While this is happening, Dannika goes missing and loses her memories and thinks she's still eighteen. How you ask??..read the book to find out silly! Oh and the shocker...all I'll say is that I didn't see this coming at all!
Catherine really outdid herself with Fade to Silver. Cover Reveal! Gravitational Pull by Marissa Carmel

Title: Gravitational Pull (Vis Vires Trilogy #2)
Author: Marissa Carmel
Release Day: April 4th, 2013
Genre: New Adult Paranormal Romance
Cover Reveal Host: Lady Amber's Tours

Blurb:

Touch me, and bring me to life...

How do you move on when you don’t even know where you were going in the first place?

The Spirit Stalker is dead and I have finally started to erect my life. But I quickly discover, that just because the structure is built doesn’t mean the foundation is sturdy. As much as I try to manage my abilities, I can’t completely control them. The physical impossibility of the relationship I have with Justice has reached a boiling point; our fundamental problem is my inability to control myself from absorbing his power, and his fears of touching me because of it.

As if that wasn’t deal-breaker enough, a new threat looms on my horizon - Darklings.

They are grim reapers of the immortal world who surface every five-hundred-years to feed off the souls of magical beings who are weak, aimless, lost; those who have given up and want to move on.

They also hunt power. Which means, they’re hunting me.

Abandoned by the one person I need the most, I find myself in Melenia’s realm.  There, I’m courted by Siberian, a dangerous pixie who covets me, hunted by Death personified; all the while hiding my powers and my ancient bloodline. The pixie prince is alluring, and I feel so broken and vulnerable. I know giving in to him means giving myself over to him. But right now, I don’t care. All I want is to feel anything other than the loss and rejection Justice left me with.

Anything other than pain.

So what do I do when I’m scared to be touched, even though I know it’s the only way to bring my soul back to life?

Excerpt- Justice’s POV

We land right outside the gates of Keelin Castle. Extinguishing ourselves, we descend on the palace.

Walking authoritatively, we make our way down the nave-like hallway of the castle to the huge, golden double doors at the end. The throne room.

“Are you sure that’s where she’ll be?” Derrin asks snidely. “She might be waiting in her chambers for you.”

“Well if she is, she’ll be waiting a while.”

“It could be a good way to get some of your frustrations out,” he says boorishly.

“There’s more than one way to release frustration,” I threaten him.

“Bring it, bitch,” he grabs his crotch, not intimidated at all.

Asshole.

I push open the throne room doors, and as expected, we see the pixie queen perched on her throne waiting for us.

Emery surveys us as we approach. Both Derrin and I give a small nod in due respect as we reach her, but don’t be deceived, we are the supreme strata.

“Your little human has caused quite a stir,” she says evenly, but I can see the danger flashing in her eyes.

“She was the one who was attacked,” I quickly defend Liv.

“Was she? Or did she bring it on herself?”

My look becomes more intense. “What are you talking about?”

“My brother has taken quite a liking to her you know,” Emery says randomly.

Yes, I’ve noticed.

“If your brother knows what’s best for him, he will disappear from her life,” I say through clenched teeth.

Or I’ll remove him myself.

Emery’s eyes become razor sharp at my comment - she’s realized something. She slips off her throne and stalks down the three slate stairs to the floor where Derrin and I are standing. Like Liv, she is tiny, with long hair blacker than night and almond eyes just like Melenia’s.

“What is so special about this human?” she looks up at me, searing the question straight into my soul.

“Nothing,” I snap, but Emery knows me. She sees right through my lies.

“Then it will be nothing if I send the royal guard to take care of her, and rid my land of such contaminants.”

“Do it, and I will burn this entire realm to the ground,” I growl.

Her eyes grow a little wider, but she doesn’t back down from my glare.

“You love her.”

“No.”

“You deny it?”

“Yes.”

No.

“You loved me once,” she says vulnerably.

“What we had was never love,” I bite, “just sex.”

Ouch. That was harsh, even for me.

Emery’s eyebrows crease, and I know I have hurt her deeply.

It’s not a lie, I never loved her. We did have an intense physical relationship that included some emotion, but it’s incomparable to what I have with Liv.

She backs away from me, shifting her eyes between me and Derrin.

Derrin clears his throat. “Not to interrupt this lover’s quarrel,” that I highly enjoy watching, he tells me telepathically, “but what exactly did you mean when you said she brought it on herself?”

Emery’s full attention falls upon Derrin.

“Siberian didn’t give me all the details, but apparently she used her powers on him, and what she did, he described only as provocative.”

I clench my jaw. Provocative?

Images of Liv and Siberian reel through my head. What did she do to him? What did he do to her?

The thought makes me furious.

I’ve damaged us so badly; she turned to a threat more dangerous than the Darklings. And the only thing I can do about it is blame myself.

“So, is she in trouble?” Derrin goes on. “Is there anything we need to be aware of?” he hints. “Besides you sending the royal guard and Siberian?”

Emery contemplates Derrin’s questions for a short second. “Besides Darklings, what else should there be?” She looks over at me as I stand there still-stocked, trying not to give away the anger boiling over in my chest at the thought of Liv and Siberian.

“Who is this girl, exactly?” she pries deeper now, and I know we are heading into hazardous territory.

“She’s no one you have to be concerned about,” I dodge the question. “We just need to know if you’ve caught wind of any unusual uprisings?”

She is simultaneously lost and absolutely intrigued as she stares at me decisively. “No, nothing.”

I nod, and release an almost nonexistent sigh of relief.

“Do I have your word she won’t be harmed while she’s in Devonshire?” I phrase it as a question, but she understands my query is so much more than that. It’s a threat.

She nods her displeasure with a small, irritated frown.

We’ve collected the information we came for, and I’ve had enough of Emery’s probing stares. Surrendering to the ever-present pull drawing me back to Liv, and preparing for the shit-storm I’m sure awaits me once I see her, I turn to leave.

“What should I tell my brother?” Emery calls, taunting me. “He wants her.”

I turn back and glare at her. “Tell him he couldn’t handle her, even if he got her.” Then I slam the throne room door behind me, the sound echoing throughout the castle.

That pixie prick is dead.

The Tiger's Heart by Marissa Dobson

When the Lieutenant of the Alaskan Tigers Raja Harrison rescues Bethany from the hands of kidnappers he gets more than he bargains for. It was supposed to be an easy rescue, instead he finds the injured Bethany—and his mate. For years he’s avoided the mating topic, believing his job is too dangerous to risk another. But now Bethany threatens to risk that fragile control he’s once had.

A rogue shifter wants Bethany Thompson and is determined to destroy all she holds dear, along with the tiger shifter population. When she’s kidnapped, beaten and forced into the world of shifters, her whole world is turned upside down. The shifter problems now are her problems as her family secret comes to light.
Can Raja and Bethany join focuses with the other elders of the Alaskan Tigers to bring down the rogue shifter? Or will the rogue destroy all Raja serves to protect?

The table was cluttered with papers and maps, and their search for Pierce was underway. Information was slowly trickling in. They had men following up on leads, searching known vacations spots for Pierce and his gang. Most of the leads turned out to be dead ends, but still they followed up with everything, as the one lead they didn’t pursue would be the key to finding the rogue shifters.
The anxiety of the situation ate away at Raja’s gut, while Ty’s shown on his face. They seemed no closer to finding Pierce, yet they could feel his men were in the mountains watching them. His assassin teams were stalking the area, waiting for them. With the danger surrounding rarely did anyone leave the compound, especially not the women and children.
“Raja, stop pacing. You’re going to wear a hole in my favorite rug,” Tabitha teased, watching him over her coffee mug as he paced the study.
He smiled, unable to help it. Tabitha always had a way of lightening the mood. When I find my mate I hope she is able to make me smile the way Tabitha can. This woman has been through so much, yet she still is more concerned about the people around her than herself.
“You know I’m good for another one.” He couldn’t sit still. The hairs on the back of his neck stood at attention with the knowledge that something wasn’t right. He could feel in his soul that something was going to happen. Pierce would make a move before long, but what would that move be?
“I received word before coming over that Leo and Connor arrived in California and were on their way to locate Pierce’s sister. It’s extremely unlikely that he’s there, but maybe she’ll be able to tell us something.” He ran his hand over the windowsill. Outside looked like a winter wonderland. Everything was covered in a thick, white snow, with even more snow forecast for the next few days.
“Keep me apprised on the situation. I want them back within seventy-two hours, or we send in another team. We don’t have the time to waste on this,” Ty said, looking up from his e-tablet, where he was reading the reports from the teams trying to track Pierce and his clan. Teams were all over the country, yet no one had seen hide or hair of Pierce and his men. It wasn’t surprising that Pierce knew they were searching for him, but they didn’t expect Pierce to run and hide. Maybe the fact that his days were numbered, for the murder and attacks on other tiger shifters, had him scared.
Raja nodded, still gazing out the window.
“I need to go speak with some of the guards. Raja, could you look after Tabby until I get back? I don’t want to leave her alone in case there’s another attack.”
“Sure.”
“Thank you.” Ty rose, kissing her on the cheek as he did. “I shouldn’t be long, love.”
Once they were alone Raja heard Tabitha’s chair push back from the table, her sock-covered feet padding toward him.
“Raja, are you okay?” She laid her hand on his back as if she could give him the comfort she was able to give Ty. Unfortunately, it only worked on a mate, but the caring gesture touched him.
“I’m fine. You have enough to worry about; there is no need to be concerned about me. I’m fine.” Even he could hear the uncertainty in his voice—there was no doubt she could.
“I don’t believe you. If you ever need to talk, I’m here. It will go no further than us.”
“Mates don’t keep things from each other.” The reservation was thick in his voice.
“To help a friend in need I would do what needs to be done. Raja, I haven’t known you very long, but I consider you a part of my family and can see your pain.” She ran her hand over his back.
“Thank you, but everything is fine with me. It’s you I’m worried about. I can feel something bad is coming.” He wasn’t being entirely honest. There was something bothering him, but he couldn’t put his finger on it, let alone put it into words to tell his Queen.
“We’ll get through it. We know Pierce is still out there and after me. He has a larger following then we guessed. I know it’s your job as our Lieutenant to worry, but we’ll get through this.”
The invisible ear bud allowing him contact with command central and the ground teams sprang to life. “Breach. We have a breach at the main gate. All available units respond.”
“Shit. Where’s Felix?”
“Ty gave him the morning off since we were meeting with you and wouldn’t be leaving our quarters.” Tabitha joined him at the window. “Go. I’ll be fine.”
“Like hell I will. You have to be protected.” She had her own transmitter, allowing her to know what was happening, and he could feel her fear spilling off her.
“Raja, stay where you are. Felix is on his way. I’m proceeding toward the main gate,” Ty’s voice came through the transmitter.
“Be safe,” Tabitha whispered.
“Tabitha, come away from the window. Everyone always forgets about the windows. You feel safe and secure inside the houses, while the sharpshooter is just waiting. Waiting for you to walk past the window.”
He could feel her reluctance but his job was to keep her safe, not allow her to stand in front of the window for a glimpse of what might be happening. Unlike the other guards, his vow wasn’t made because she was their Female Alpha or because she was the Queen of the Tigers. No, his vow was made for Ty. Ty had saved his ass more than once, and the best way to show his appreciation for it was to keep Ty’s mate safe.

Light of the World Blog Tour

In her dreams whispers taunt her.
They chant wicked things to frighten her.
Every morning she wakes with the same sentence ringing in her ears.
'You're dead. You're dead and I just forgot to tell you.'
The problem isn't entirely the sentence.
It's the person she sees in her dreams chanting it.
It's her mother.

My Review:

One word....holy-hell-balls-of-fury! Light of The World is a roller coaster of pure awesomeness. Tara really has outdone herself with this one. Love, lust, lies, betrayal, death, sacrifice ...it's all here! It is beautifully written and the fun has only begun in this installment. I can't wait for Book 2 of The Light Series to come out to find out more about Rayne and her twisted live triangle and her awesome sidekicks!

Ok kiddies...the moment you've all been waiting for! An exclusive interview with the wonderfully fantastically awesome Tara! Enjoy!

What/who inspired you to become a writer and why did you choose the genre that you write?  I have always been a writer. I was entertaining my teacher in grade one with tales in my "What did you do this weekend" journal. My parents got phone calls home I think. I write what I love. I love being scared and being unsure of the reactions of characters because they are something more than a human. I love the darkness inside of people and the reasons they are the way they are.

What was the title of the first book you've ever written and what was it about? It was title-less and about a girl who got into a car accident and ended up with amnesia and had to stay in a facility. She ended up falling in love with her doctor, but there was a guy back home... It sucked and my daughter deleted it. Divine intervention.

Are your characters inspired by real life people?  If yes, who? Yes, everyone and everything inspires me. It's fun being a writer. I can listen to a song and make up a story.
If you could meet anyone famous, dead or alive, who would it be and why? Jane Austen, because I need to know who inspired Mr. Darcy....And then tackle him in the snow and make him love me.

What is your favorite time of year? The Fall. I love that everything is dying and the creepiness of Halloween and the crispness in the air.

Favorite song of all time? Hey Ho, By the Lumineers because it reminds me of Will from Born. It was my song of choice in the spring/summer of 2012 when I was writing the novel. No one really knew who they were, they had loyal fans but no radio time. Will sings the song in the book around a campfire with a bunch of people in the woods and a guitar. It reminded me of the human spirit and the love and passion and fun that is inside of us and how even through the worst of times, humans find a way to still be us. Still be inspired. So then fast forward to January 2013 and Born is a Number 1 bestseller and Hey Ho and The Lumineers are crazy famous. Love it!!!

Favorite movie of all time? Pride and Prejudice

Most annoying sound ever? The voices in my head that won't shut up when I'm trying to sleep. They don't care, they just want their story written. And an air horn. I flaming well hate air horns.

Most annoying call to get first thing in the morning? "Hey, what are you doing?" WHAT THE FRICKEN HELL DO YOU THINK I AM DOINGGGGGG, RAWRRRRRRR. I super like my sleep.

Most weirdest thing you've ever eaten and liked it? Deep fried bugs, in a bar in china. They had deep fried bugs in a bowl that were salted like peanuts. Fracken yummy.

Most lovable character you've created? Jake from Born, hands down.

Anything new and interesting you are currently working on? Puleeeease. All I do is work. Interesting?? Maybe lol. I am working on a science fiction about the future. Can't reveal the huge plot twists but it's awesome!!!!!

Which book are you excited to see made into a movie? Significance or Mortal Instruments? Me personally...Significance only because I've read the whole series. None, hating this 'Let's destroy every book written by making a movie using only hot actors and who cares if they can act or not' thing Hollywood is on. It's terrible. You know what, if Significance or Mortal Instruments was being done by The BBC I would jump up and down and scream like a little girl. But the lame asses in Hollywood pick based on hotness. Thus far they have destroyed every book I have read. It feels like authors sell their souls to the devil when they get a movie deal. I cringe when I see it. I'm going to watch Beautiful Creatures tonight and I am positive I will hate it and be pissed. Mortal instruments, sweet god, JAMIE CAMPBELL BOWER??? REALLY??? omg we can't talk about this....

Any book recommendations that I must absolutely must read? Yes, The Wheel of Time Series by Robert Jordan, The Vampire Bride by Rhiannon Frater, Masque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin, all interesting and in my top ten!!!!

I would love to thank Tara for being so fraken awesome and thank you for stopping by and checking me out! You guys rock! XoXo

About Tara

I am not going to talk in the third person. It feels weird.

I am a Canadian author of Paranormal Romance, Post Apocalyptic and Fantasy novels. I write a lot of books and jump Genres a lot. Mostly because I think I have Writers ADD, I like to call it WADD. It might be a real thing.

I write New Adult, my books have sexual content (Heck yes) and Swearing. You have been warned. Now enjoy! I have a beagle named Buster, a husband who I force to read everything I write and two girls who want so badly to be a character in my books. And not in that order. I am mid thirties so be prepared for the chick lit novel this year. I am calling it my Ode to my Midlife Crisis. I have been writing since I was old enough to lie. So for some time. If you're wondering about the hat, it's my 'Hey I'm Canadian Toque' Welcome to my world. Please enjoy the ride.

I am a huge fan of the Zombie Apocalypse and Eric Northman. Sweet Baby Jesus, that man is fine. I have recently branched out and have just published my first Fantasy novel. It is filled with Dragons, Magic, Princesses, The Volkodlak, oh and maybe a little bodice ripping and some cage fighting. But let's be honest who doesn't like a princess who can take care of herself. The novel is called Vengeance and the double sword wielding Princess Amillia guarantees plenty of it. Don't miss any of my amazing series!! Including the one being revealed in the spring, The Blackwater Witches. Bayou witches, creatures of the night and a creepy old haunted mansion.
