Happy New Year's Eve Everyone! I hope you all had an awesome 2012! I know I had a good one. I got to meet all of you and claim you as family now.
Today is not only New Year's Eve but my wedding day. I will FINALLY marry the father of my two beautiful daughters and my best friend, my other half, my soulmate. We aren't doing the big thing like we planned. It just wasn't in the cards to be that way. Instead, we are going to the County Recorder place (I think) to get hitched.
So on that note, I plan to start 2013 with new eyes and determination. I plan to work on the blog more and more, be the best wife I can possibly be and focus on trying to help out with income. Making cakes and cuppies or paper crafts is what I plan to do but who knows.
I wish all of you the best for 2013. Happiness, love and laughter with those you hold near and dear.
Once again, I thank you all for stopping by and checking me out! See ya in 2013!!!!!
So for the past 2 weeks, I've been playing the housewife/mommy role to it's fullest. I've been baking non-stop and cleaning/prepping the house for Christmas and The Biggies 4th Birthday. PLUS trying to get everything needed for a Civil Ceremony on NYE (New Year's Eve). That's right people...I'm getting married after what...14 years of being together and 4 of those years being engaged.
OK so for today's rant, I wanted to share with you what I've been baking. Yup...my one of my treasured recipes =)
First up...Banana Bread Muffins (or bread). It's uber easy and really yummy =)
So for this one, you will need: Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease/flour your pan of choice ( I used a 9 x 5 x 3 or muffin tins for this recipe) 1/2 cup shortening ( I use butter or margarine) softened 1 cup sugar (make it more if the bananas aren't sweet enough) 2 eggs 3-4 medium bananas, smashed (add more nanas if you love them) 2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon vanilla ( I added more cuz I love the stuff) 1/4 cup milk (or less if you like it kinda dry) Cinnamon to taste =) *if you like extras like raisins or nuts, add them to your liking*
Mix first 4 ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. Sift dry ingredients together and add them to the banana mix, blending very well. Add the remaining ingredients, mix it all together and use your pan of choice. Sprinkle extra cinnamon on top and use a toothpick to swirl slighly for nice presentation. Bake for about 45 minutes to an hour if using a 9x5x3 pan or until baked to your liking. For muffins, I baked them for about 15 minutes before I started to check them =)
Tomorrow's recipe is Uber Chocolatey Chocolate Chip Cookies!!
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog!!! XoXo
OK... so now that Halloween and Thanksgiving are out of the way, bring on Christmas and New Years!
For those of you who don't know (prolly all of you), Christmas is my favorite holiday by far for 4 reasons: decorating the house with gaudy decorations, listening to novelty Christmas music, baking all sorts of fattening goodies, and the most important reason...my daughter Isabel's birthday is the 26th =)
So I thought I'd share my favorite Christmas songs and baked goodies.
First up....a song!
One of my favorite songs ever!
Stille Nacht- Mannheim Steamroller
Mannheim Steamroller and Transyberian Orchestra are 2 of my favorite bands for instrumental Christmas music. They blend the right amount of electric guitars with tone bells. Who would have thought that the two go so great together? Go figure!!!
Some of my favorite goodies for the Holidays are easy to make and require little to no baking at all.
Peppermint bark...one of the best things ever created! Here's a quick an easy recipe courtesy of Allrecipes.com
"There is a place between worlds where our souls take a moment, before they go to Heaven.
It is a quiet place where everything feels as if it has paused.
It is here that Aimee James first meets him.
He is standing over her dead body.
He is more beautiful than anything she has ever seen."
My Review:
Cursed had me hooked from the very beginning. You are sucked into Aimee's world at the present and things seem out of order. You are then taken back to where it all began for our main character. You are introduced to Alise, her twin sister who is her complete opposite, her BFF/fellow WoW guildie Blake, and her secret crush since the second grade/sisters boy toy, Shane.
Aimee goes to this party at Shane's house. Blake and Aimee have a slight falling out if you will and she ends up drinking some messed up stuff. That is when she meets HIM. He is the most beautiful man she has ever seen with crazy blue eyes. Aimee then goes nuts trying to find this mystery man only to find him in the library. Aleksander tries to play it off like he doesn't know what she's talking about only to later fall in love with her.
Cursed will have you seeing and feeling things through Aimee's eyes. Her heartache, butterflies in the stomach, her pain and her love. So much has happened to her and her family that you can't help but feel her.
One of the things I love most about this book is the conversations between Aimee and Blake. They had me laughing out loud and snorting. Good times really! One of my favorite lines: It's hard to hang in the nerd crowd when you scare the nerds. We scare easily." That was the very first time I LOL'd =)
Tara Brown is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. She is introducing new types of paranormals that I haven't personally read about yet. I really enjoyed reading Cursed, Book 1 of the Devil's Roses Series and I truly hope you like it too!
Hello and Welcome to my blog. I'm new to this world so please bear with me =) My name is Crystal and I am a mother of 2 girls under the age of 5. No, they aren't twins although they seem like they are. They are actually 20 months apart and my entire world! I am engaged and will hopefully be married on NYE (New Year's Eve) 2012. Why New Years Eve you ask...I have no idea! The man has his reasons and won't disclose this information lol. I live in Sunny San Diego, California. I am literally about 10 minutes from Mexico and 5 minutes from the nearest beach =) But enough about me..time for the blogging=) I'm not sure what you should expect from this blog. I will go from book reviews, random thoughts, interesting finds to recipes that look easy and yummy. I am open to suggestions and anything you throw my way. So please enjoy and thank you for stopping by!
